Tucson, AZ rejuveNATION
On December 17, I had a terrific meeting via conference call with two high ranking school board officials and Surgance city leaders, most notably, Jay Huffstutler.
The purpose of the meeting was to establish a pilot program in 2009 with the Sunnyside district of Tucson and the Surgance program, rejuveNATION. The meeting could not have gone better. There was great receptivity to the idea of partnership and a plan of action was devised to execute a successful pilot project with an eye on a long-term relationship. The gentlemen we met with were very strategic thinkers and even offered to move their one day a year volunteer cleaning project that happens in the fall under the rejuveNATION banner. Additionally, they were very well connected with several businesses that would be able to provide materials and they wanted to open some doors for us to make connections.
Jay will be delivering a presentation to local superintendents and others come the first of the year regarding rejuveNATION.
