Drew Benton is the Director of Urban Nation with SafeHouse Outreach in Atlanta. He has an excellent blog at his homepage: http://drewbenton.com/ Check it out when you get a minute. He has also done a marvelous job with his Squidoo page that provides information on homelessness in Atlanta. As a matter of fact, his page is ranked in the top 50 Squidoo pages in the category of Volunteering. That’s no small feat! There are over 7,000 in that category alone. Drew and I are working on a collaborative project in Atlanta to mobilize students and suburbanites to engage the urban center of Atlanta through volunteerism with the city’s nonprofits. More on this as it develops, but I can tell you from behind the scenes that this thing has a lot of potential to reproduce. Let’s see what happens. In the meantime, make some time to volunteer with me making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate in our nation’s urban centers.
